Day 5 Liefrange (Luxembourg) to Luxembourg City to Vilsbergk

Tuesday 30th July

Into Luxembourg City having managed to find parking right in the centre. Overall I found the city disappointing apart from some nice views.

to make matters worse the camp site we had picked out was terrible. How that earned three stars is a mystery to me. The men’s toilets was constantly flooded. We had to wash up by torch light. No grey water disposal.

Day 90 Miles. Total trip mileage 794

Day 4 Rest day at Liefrange (Luxemburg)

Monday 29th July

Having driven for the last few days we decided on a rest day. Taking it nice and slow day and enjoying the first day with no rain and no driving.

We had breakfast outside having ordered bread and croissants the night before.

In the afternoon we wondered down a precarious footpath to a massive reservoir. The bridge was closed due to repairs so we used a temporary floating bridge to cross. We then enjoyed a swim in the cool water in a natural reservoir with the day heating up.

Day 0 Miles. Total trip mileage 704

Day 3 Heederpool (Holland) to Maastricht to Liefrange

Sunday 28th July

The Heederpool campsite was a strange one. Our first clue was when the reception man asked if we wanted a field to ourselves. He then told us the restaurant was closed as it was late. It was only 6.30pm. Anyway it was a nice enough site even if a bit of a ghost town.

On to Maastricht where, after driving past the illusive parking spot 3 times, we were able to explore the city. Again a damp day but the city was quite pretty.

Too add more photos when I have WiFi

After this we drove onto our campsite, set on the hillside in Luxemburg

Day 123 Miles. Total trip mileage 704

Leiefrange is In Luxemburg (3 countries in one day)

Day 2. Brugge to Heelderpool (Holland)j

Saturday 27th July

By Mel: We woke up to the beautiful sound of torrential downpour that was magnified within our camper van. Fortunately it stopped soon after so we took the opportunity to explore Brugge.

We parked along the riverbank, outside the city gates. As we entered we saw a silver and gold Lamborghini that turned into a tight archway and managed to get the wheel arch stuck on the corner block. The lady inside, clearly distressed, instead of stopping to assess the situation, decided to just keep charging forward, scraping the silver paint work.

Day 238 Miles. Total trip mileage 581.
